In 2023, I had the privilege of beginning a life-changing journey with Connect to Uganda through a beautiful young girl named Rashida. Rashida, a student at Bubago Lutheran Nursery & Primary School, became my sponsored child, and little did I know then how this connection would profoundly impact my life.
I first met Rashida through Connect to Uganda, an organization that connects people from all walks of life to support and mentor students in Uganda. Since then, I have had the honor of visiting Rashida twice in Uganda, and this summer marks my third trip. Each visit has brought me closer to her, and with every interaction, I've gained a deeper appreciation for the culture, the people, and the struggles they face.
This connection has truly opened my eyes to the world in ways I never anticipated. It’s helped me see life through a different lens, one that emphasizes compassion, hope, and the power of education. It’s also reminded me of the importance of God’s guidance in my life—this connection was no accident. I firmly believe He led me to Rashida, and every step of the journey has reaffirmed that purpose.
As I continue my relationship with Rashida and Connect to Uganda, I am filled with gratitude for the privilege of being a part of her story. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most impactful connections happen in the most unexpected ways.
I look forward to all that lies ahead and pray that God continues to use this journey to deepen my understanding of His love for all people, no matter where they are.
